Weekly Essay
Tom Ehrich's Weekly Essay grew out of readers' requests for commentary on faith and ethics.
In the 560-word Saturday postings, Tom addresses a wide array of religious, cultural and political issues. Writing from a progressive Christian perspective, Tom tries to avoid narrow partisanship, but rather to encourage readers of diverse views to think more deeply about critical issues.
Starting from an example or vignette from daily life, Tom tries to engage readers in the ethical and spiritual dimensions of an issue such as faith in the political arena, cultural change, demagogic bullying, and corruption.
