God in the City
In 2007, after 19 years in North Carolina, Tom Ehrich and his family moved to New York City, fulfilling Tom's long-standing dream.
They immediately set about exploring the city's five borough, thousands of discrete neighborhoods, hundreds of parks and waterfronts.
A year later, Tom began writing a weekly essay called God in the City. It is a search for God in the daily rounds of New York City life, as well as occasional forays into other areas of the US on consulting assignments.
A key part of the adventure has been taking photographs of these explorations. Those photos now accompany not only the Sunday God in the City essay, but Daily Meditations and Weekly Essay, as well.
In fact, all photos on this web site were taken by Tom for God in the City, including scenes from New York, Nebraska, the Outer Banks of North Carolina, Mobile Bay in Alabama, and San Francisco.
